Well, after a lot of research and a worsening of the problem I landed on the rear driveshaft as a likely culprit. Removed it and found that the rear most ujoint was sticking in one direction. Drove the rig with it off and CDL on, and sure enough that was the issue. So I regreased and worked out the ujoint, then reinstalled the driveshaft, and sure enough the vibration is gone.

Thank you past me for reminding myself where this vibration was coming from, as it has returned. Time to take off that driveshaft and re-work the joint a bit and I guess it's time to order a new rear driveshaft!

are there many off road trails available on oahu? ive always wondered
Not really. Theres a super easy one out to Kaena point, and a harder one that I've heard of here in the middle of the island, but all of them require you getting permit beforehand. I originally grabbed the rig for when I retire to take on Maine fire roads, but retirement keeps pushing itself back.

I posted on the weekly wyd thread, but posting here for posterity.

New CVs, replaced aftmost Ujoint- she's starting to feel like new. Probably should have replaced that Ujoint last year when I noticed it was a little funky...

But now I just have a couple more projects.

-Re-welding the exhaust aft of the muffler where it cracked over the years.

-Replacing the Lower Ball Joints because it's probably time.

-Standard maintenance items like new brake pads.

Good times. After about a year of very low effort (or rather, all my effort going into my job), it's nice to turn attention back to the Rig again!

Last time I had my right wheel off I noticed my outboard brake pad on that side was worn pretty far, so I replaced all four front pads yesterday. Oddly, it was just the outboard right one that was badly worn, the rest were all worthy of replacement, but not nearly as bad. If I see the same issue in a year I'll assume I have to rebuild that caliper.

But that's not the awesome part. Before I took it off the lift I did a quick inspection and noticed that my driver's side sway bar was lose where the bushing connects to the body. I've replaced so many part trying to find this clunk, when I hit uneven terrain, and finally I found it! Some quick tightening and now she's quiet as ever over uneven washboard!
