I just dealt with this. Try to get another nut to lock on and back the stud out. Picked up a new one from cruiseroutfitters on wednesday.

I am servicing the birfs on a new to me '94 FZJ. There is evidence of a blown axle/birf by a PO. I have been trying for 3 hours to the axle in the side gear. What I didn't realize is the guide ring is completely missing from the driver's side axle housing. Anyone ever dealt with this...
