So it turns out the DE3175 is for the second-row dome light and for the trunk dome light. For the front "push" lights (are those actually called "map lights"?) I used 1895 bulbs (one for each side).

Ah, I have an 05 with rear dvd. Perhaps I got the wrong bulb type.

Hi gang, One of my dome lights is out on mg GX and I picked up a replacement bulb (DE3175). I was hoping that I would just be able to pop the new one in, but now it seems like I need to take the whole "unit" out. Is that true? Can anyone offer some tips if they have done this before?

@oordco There you go! I don't have a lift and they fit well, just a little bit or rubbing when I am making a tight turn in a tight space.

Following up on this: the threading was indeed different so I needed a new set of lug nuts. However the factory studs were sufficient and I didn't need longer ones.

I called the dealer a few times and never heard back from him, ended up going with a GX for the time being. Someday I'll get myself and 80 :)
