Welp, I finished up my rebuild today with the uhmw wipers. I will report back with my results. As far as lubricating the balls, the wipers do not wipe 100% of the grease off. The surface isn't completely polished, therefore the imperfections leave some grease behind and not all of the gunk...

I wouldn't worry about "flushing" your tranny. Just drain and refill (4 quarts). I use Valvoline Syn ATF.
