Thanks for the education. I'm not interested in doing 65-70, but 45-50 on the highway, in Houston, is scary unless it is rush hour and then no one notices you are going slow... Steering is kinda squirrely at 50 anyway so 60 is probably my limit.

My Harley cruises around 3000 rpm but it's nowhere near as loud as what I'm hearing from the fj40. Maybe I need to put my motorcycle helmet on to dampen the noise...

i ordered a tach from Amazon. Will wire it up this weekend and see what the true RPM is rather than going by noise. What rpm do you cruise at?
