    Hj60 wheels and tyres

Run 15x8 -20 wheels and 33x12,5 ko's for a bit with saggy springs. No rubbing in daily driving, then again I don't really wheel it. I've run 15x8 and 33x12,5 with couple different tyres and suspension combos, never had rubbing. With 10" wheels I suspect the tyre will poke out from the fender...

    More the merrier

ANOTHER RED ONE So I needed lights, steering column, body parts and what not. Red cruiser still needed transmission, alternator and fuel tank which had started leaking. What to do? Well, buy another one! This time I played safe and bought one that I would dare to part out. Been standing over...

    More the merrier

THE BLACK ONE After understanding that my beloved cruiser needed some quite extensive repairs to live on I decided to get me another just for parts. I searched semi-passively through internet for a suitable one and found this also -83 hj60 nearby me. For 800 euros I thought it was a bargain...

    More the merrier

THE RED ONE, PT2 At this point I left the truck waiting on repair for couple of months. Decided to tackle front axle issues as well as the shock mount bar. Sourced hj61 front axle with cable locker and bearing damage, rebuild it (which went well ) and swapped the whole axle under the car...

    More the merrier

Hello to all fellow cruiserholics! Thought I could share my journey on this slippery slope (some call it owning a car) with you. Lots of pics to come. THE RED ONE, PT1 It all started with this couple of years back: Stock -83 HJ60, 2h+h55f. Solid truck with couple of simple issues: parking...

Start up hj60 sitting for years.

I've been starting my hj60s by Toyota instructions, it's not about revving the cold engine but to get it running. Usually revs bounce up to approximately 1500 rpm after start. My spares truck has been sitting since 2008. Haven't really put an effort to get it running (it's for spares after...

    235/85/16 Nankang on fj62

Could you take couple more photos of the rig and the tires? Hows the fuel economy with these tyres compared to stock/something you run previosly? Thinking of putting similiar tyres on my other hj60, currently running 33x12,5 on both cruisers but i'd like to try narrower tyres.

    Hj60 89 tachometer doesnt work

You should already have a 24 to 12 volt converter in your truck, at least the ones in Finland have one if it's not ripped of. It's located behind drivers side panel in the trunk. It's used to run trailer lights wich usually are 12v.

OME heavy kit refurb - anyone with measurements?

Good link, thanks about it! Made me realize that I've measured the springs wrong way. Too bad I've already taken leaves apart, but maybe I can get some information by measuring the main leafs. I've decided to make my front springs a bit more sturdy by adding one leaf from junk springs I have...

OME heavy kit refurb - anyone with measurements?

Well this is interesting. I don't know if I don't know how to measure the springs or if I can't read the table right. My front springs are both 1100mm but the rear springs are approximately 1160 and 1180, wich seems to be quite a lot shorter than the picture above states. Shouldn't a leaf spring...

OME heavy kit refurb - anyone with measurements?

Okay, found this table made by Sixty's guy in another thread, so I'm probably okey with the spring measurement. I'll just check if my springs are much longer eye-to-eye than those right?

OME heavy kit refurb - anyone with measurements?

Recently bought hj60 and the rear springs were so saggy I know I had to do something to them to get the car tested/mot/whatsoever. Found a used ome kit locally in ok condition and bought it. Now when I havent yet installed the springs to the car I thought it might be a good time to do a small...
