I was going 70 and smashed into a cement wall. Airbags went off on impact. I don't think the brush guard made a difference. But I appreciate the comment.

Ok- may have figured it out. There was a connector that fits the resistor that had this ground wire connected, which is why I didn’t notice it at first. Any thoughts on this ground wire in the pic? Is this normal?
