Hey guys. Trying to find an ignition module to a 3FE. CrusierCorps, multi pick and pulls, ECU repair shops, dealer, and rock auto aftermarket parts later I'm at a loss. Can't find a repair or replacement. Anybody possibly have a 3FE parts truck that has a working ignition module. Much appreciated!
Soo here's my lastest and greatest. Everything's been great expect the igniter module stops working when it gets hot. The parts listed as replacements and the interwebs are nothing but lies, fakes, or phonies. Tried a couple and the distributor got zero on the meter. So I figured, works when...
So it's been a solid two years since the last post and it is time for some much needed positivity!! I've diligently been learning, listening and just driving the 80. People on here always "talked" about vacuum leaks causing power loss and I thought in terms of my 80 I was good.... thus making...
Even more crazy, found another 80 driver with the exact same fuel pump issue on long drives and the exact same sunroof leak. Nothing like seeing an identical twin in the Target parking lot! Dead ringer for my rig, minus my awesome 33s, ha.

Finally have made some progress! Decided to investigate the fuel system. Had the tank replaced and filler neck worked on but never followed up after the repairs to do any kind of inspection. Have a great mechanic down here in Myrtle Beach suspect the fuel...
Maybe loss of power is the valves moving and this is a separate new issue? Makes sense. Especially considering "heat soaked" etc.
This is amazing, had no idea.
It will start, idle is a little rougher, if you can get it to a cruising speed 35, 45 etc it can do a okay job at holding it, it will what a call "idle accelerate" but trying to make it go was when it was very very noticeable, worse was when she was hot 3 hours in, 1 hour after the first rest...
Mine is a 91 as well with 33s, good to know its 2200rpm for you as well. 4.56 would definitely make an improvement in most driving conditions, want to do the same!
For curiousity sake, Question for you? Can you tell me what RPM equals 70mph in overdrive gear, straight and level on the highway for your rig. I know in my busted rig its exactly 2200rpm.
No overheating. Heat soaked yes. Never had the issue this acute but always had power loss issue. Seemed to sort of hold its own, now it gets progressively worse to the point I have no power. Heat soaked valves that will not stay in place, maybe could cause a similar issue? I'm not sure...
3Fe with only 130k should never have these issues. I think it goes to show neglect is worse then high mileage. Truly think if I had started with a small rebuild of the top of the engine it would solve all other issues. With severe neglect I think most people would suggest this. I've replaced...
In neutral you would never know you had an issue, other than maybe some valve noise. Idle was rough at first this morning until she got up to operating temps.
