Its a problem with the way the XM satellites work, Sirius has much better, consistent signal. Not sure if you'd be able to integrate an aftermarket antenna somewhere though.

I used to, for some reason it auto filled my user image and I just left it. Both my b5 a4 and my S5 didn't have rear fogs, you could hook them up if you were so inclined, but it doesn't come set up that way from the factory.

I live in BC, where all of the above happens, and its a very very rare situations where the conditions are bad enough to need a rear fog light, I've never had a car with one, and I cant remember a time in which I wish I had one or needed one.
