Follow up to finding a huge mouse nest in my engine bay and a vacuum switch cable chewed off.
Finally back and able to take a closer look. The mice apparently only ate through the plug and cable. The switch itself appears to be fine. So I ordered a new plug and will try to splice the cable back...
Last week my check engine light came on with a P0441 error (Evap ECS incorrect purge flow) and I checked the gas cap and reset the code as the truck is running fine: idle sounds normal, no loss of power, no fuel smell. Then I found a dead mouse under my truck. Thought that was odd and moved on...
That doesn't look bad at all. Mine was much worse when I bought my 2003, and all I did was spray some Rust-Oleum up into the tailgate and over the surface. It's been 4-5 years now, and the rust has not gotten any worse, so I must have lucked out. Now if my O2 sensor would just stop blowing...
Decided I should try to realign it. Removed the trim, undid the four bolts, and had the glass out. Probably the easiest thing I’ve ever done to the truck.
(Yeah, I need to clean up what’s left of the cheap masking tape.)
Anyway, there was maybe 1 to 2 millimeters of space to move the glass...
Thanks again @dbfw. It has rained heavily (even had a little hail,) the last few days, and not a single bit of moisture made it inside the truck.
I’m contemplating removing the bolts and getting the glass out so I can check the drains, or taking a chance and trying to open it. Given there was...
@dbfw, thank you for this! I am going to read through that.
So, I went to the glass guy this morning. We examined the seal and it was loose (separated from the glass) only in the rear section where that seam is, about six to eight inches on either side of the gap.
He cleaned it all up and...
Thanks for your suggestions, everyone. A local mechanic I trust with the truck suggested a glass guy he always uses and after speaking with him he agreed to have a look.
I do have some pictures from when it originally happened. I can provide more, but it’s currently raining and I don’t want to...
About a month ago, while on a family trip, I decided it was warm enough to open the sunroof, on my 2003 LC. It retracted a few inches, and then would stop and close. So I tilted it up to have a look at what was going on, and although it looked fine, it wouldn’t close properly; the rear of the...
I went with Continental TerrainContact AT tires when I first got my LC 2-3 years ago. They have been great in lots of road conditions, including snow, ice, rain, mud, dirt, trails, and beach driving. They are also great on the highway and around town.
Nice! I got the lime green for my primary key when I first got my LC, as I figured it would be the easiest to spot if I dropped my key somewhere. I’ve never dropped or lost my key, BTW.
A few months ago I ordered a red shell for my second key. I wanted purple, but it was unavailable at the...
@dbfw thank you for your reply! I was wondering if some sort of sealant could be used to address the leak. I will read through that thread.
Ahh! You can’t replace just the seal? $750 for the entire glass panel? Ugh. What sealant did you use if you don’t mind me asking? What was the process you...
