60 series frame with previous repairs – looking for advice and real-world experiences...

Thank you. That is reassuring to hear because one of my biggest fears was that I was looking at a frame that was beyond saving. I'm having the truck checked and any active cracks repaired, but it's good to hear from someone with experience that the frame looks solid overall. I really...

60 series frame with previous repairs – looking for advice and real-world experiences...

Thank you, that actually makes me feel a lot better. One of my biggest concerns was finding previous repairs on the frame and wondering if that automatically meant the truck was compromised. Hearing from someone who repaired a rusted frame section and successfully brought it back gives me a lot...

60 series frame with previous repairs – looking for advice and real-world experiences...

Thank you for the reply. Honestly, that's exactly what I needed to hear. I've probably spent too much time worrying about every repair and every mark I find on the frame. I'm currently having the truck inspected, any cracks repaired, and some reinforcement added to the areas that concern me...

60 series frame with previous repairs – looking for advice and real-world experiences...

Hey everyone, it’s me again. I’m back looking for some advice and honestly a bit of reassurance from people who’ve dealt with similar situations. As some of you may know, a couple of months ago I bought a 1985 FJ62. I’ll give a bit more context: it has around 500,000 km on the odometer, and I’m...

    Cracked Frame Reinforcement

Hello folks, how are you? I hope you're doing well. Like a month ago or a bit more, I posted that I discovered a repaired crack on the inner side of the right frame rail, right where the transfer case begins. The previous repair was a weld over the crack and just a metal plate welded in the...

Can i use my rig normally?

The inner side of the chassis, the one facing the transmission, has no reinforcement. At the level of the weld on the outer patch, there's a welded crack, so I think that confirms it was more due to fatigue or something similar. I didn't find any other cracks.

Can i use my rig normally?

This is why i don't think that it was caused by an accident, that panel intact, if she was crashed, that part gonna bend or weinkle after repair

Thanks for your answer My bro, good to hear that!!!

Can i use my rig normally?

Thank you for your reply my friend, that’s a fair question. From what I can see, the rocker panel damage looks more like it was pushed in from below rather than from a lateral hit, more like contact with a rock or obstacle than a side collision. The door skin also looks like it was hammered...

Can i use my rig normally?

Thank you for your response mate, yeah, I initially suspected the same. But after checking it more closely, the floor pan ribs are still straight and intact, not crushed or distorted like you’d expect from a side impact. It actually looks more like the frame took a localized hit from...
