While I agree in theory, the problem with that is the price of decent used vehicles has skyrocketed. I want her in an SUV for visibility, so Corolla, etc. are out. Even a halfway decent CRV or Rav4 are pushing $20k with 100k + miles. I'm not spending $20k on a 200k mile GX or 4runner at the end...

Greetings, I just need some affirmation of what I think I am already going to do. I currently own a 2003 100 Series with 275k miles that I've had for about 7 years. Prior to that I had a 2000 100 for about 7 years. I also own a 2015 GX with 180k miles that I've had since 60k miles (wife's DD)...

a just replaced what I assume were the originals on my 260k 2003. Both broke while I was removing them. The job was a much bigger pain in the butt than I was expecting. Pretty much all of the hose clamps were extremely hard to access because of the angles they were locked into the hoses.

Mine sits and rides fine on OEM suspension without a winch installed. Reason I haven’t installed a winch yet is I don’t want to spend the money on new suspension right now.

Well my Denso from Rockauto looks good but there’s a gash in the box from shipping and a corresponding bend in one of the upper mounting brackets where something pushed down on it. Not going to take the risk of installing a radiator that’s already out of spec, so back it goes.

To flush with distilled water would I just drain the entire system, refill with the distilled water and run it that way for a few minutes, completely drain again, and then refill with coolant?

Thanks but I’ve still got a couple of questions. 1. Where do I add the coolant? Top of the radiator? How much? 2. I wasn’t planning on draining all of the coolant and doing a complete replacement, but maybe I should? 3. By opening the heater valve does it mean I just need to run the heat on...

I’ve got the old radiator out and am about to install the new one. After that’s done, what is the procedure for replacing the coolant that was drained out of the old radiator? Ive never dealt with cooling systems before so I have no idea.

Managed to get the old radiator out which is totally shot at 253k miles and 18 years. During the process I managed to lose one of the little rubber grommets/dampers that fits between the upper radiator bracket and the body. Anybody know the part number?

My 03 has 25x000 miles. I have zero concerns about the engine/transmission. Front end could use some work and my steering rack needs to be replaced, but I’d drive it to California tomorrow if I needed to.

I’m not upset or in any particular hurry. Just wanted to make sure mine hadn’t been forgotten. Doesn’t look like it has.
