I had a lot of the same issues. I added the full hyperspark setup with CDI, a corvette style regulator, a fuel pump can’t remember the name now, and fuel injection damper and ALL of my problems disappeared. Oh and I wrapped the entire harness in faraday tape.

Well… we finally moved into bodywork and paint. I made the drive up north and dropped the cruiser off with @kelly saad. No idea how long it will be gone but I’m excited to see the end result. And yes, our Tahoe desperately needs airbags.

I should mention I’m swapping in a late 4 speed and transfer case not just the transfer case.

Found a late transmission and case to swap into my 83 60. If I’m not mistaken, I either need the accompanying drive shafts or need to remove 3 inches from the rear and add 3 inches to the front. Can anyone confirm that? I was going to pull mine out and rebuild it but this set up has 1000...

Another minor issue I had was a plugged charcoal canister which cause a vacuum in my tank putting strain on the fuel pump. That caused my idle to sky rocket as it tried to self adjust for lack of fuel pressure.

Where are you located? Also one of those Amazon smoke machines cost about $30 and it saved my life trying to find vacuum leaks.

UPDATE: Sniper is still performing perfectly. This was by far the best upgrade I've done since the Sniper in the beginning. One thing I have done that probably wasn't necessary, I wrapped the entire sniper harness and wires in faraday tape and added a ground wire (sniper mounting stud to body)...

Mine is in the thermostat housing since I deleted the smog stuff.

I have a sniper worth working A/C. The sniper will sense the drop in rpm and self correct. I didn’t need to mess with the kick input at all.
