Man, that 62 is fun to drive. I was surprised how peppy it was for a Land Cruiser. Real race tractor capable with those little tires.

Went to get some gas that afternoon. Was idling parked in the shade in a parking lot, when the unthinkable happened. With no notice, the engine started making noise. A sad day Weird way to meet the legend Rob. Big thanks to Cody for picking me up at the gas station and towing the 40 back...

On the drive back from Solid Axle Summit, it became clear that the brakes needed an upgrade. I was also dealing with some gasketing issues, so I started building out a punch list of work to tackle on the Cruiser. For Sale FJ40 1f Carb Spacer, 3speed floor shifter plate, 1f air filter bracket, 1f motor mounts, 1f oil filter bracket

I think the spacers appear to be the same or very close. Mine (early 71) looks like the photos above. Below is a very very original late-71. Despite the many differences, the spacer appears the same. Man I’m glad I tried to take as many photos I could have that rig. 😂

We have a winner! Non-metric nuts confirmed it non oem (and the 15&30amp writing on the top). Only 4 ugly holes left by the evil sheet metal screws.
