I started out pretty good with labeling all my bolts when I removed them, but somewhere along the line, I got complacent. I removed my old speedo housing some time ago, but I forgot to bag the bolts for it. Can anyone tell me what bolts to look for?
I heard back from Dobinson this week about my shackle pins. This was their response:
It’s definitely an alignment issue on my 40 because if I put the plate end of the shackle pin up to it, the holes align perfectly, but once I put the pin through the mount, they don’t align at all.
Back to working on my suspension. I got the full suspension kit from Dobinsons minus the shocks. I cannot for the life of me get this to line up on the fixed end of the rear leaf. I’ve even resorted to taking the entire leaf off just to try and refit it, but no luck…
Man, it’s been a while…
I’m finally getting back to work on the 40 after several months off. I’m working on my clutch and I just pressed the throwout bearing onto the hub and I’m concerned because the bearing is pretty stiff. I can rotate it, but it seems to me like this should move a lot more...
The new clutch is in! Well…Mostly…
I can’t for the life of me find the clutch fork release hub. I’ve basically turned over my entire garage but no luck. I can’t imagine I threw it away, but who the heck knows. Anyone have one for a 1F?
I ended up getting the float to 4.8mm and it's much closer to the half way point on the sight glass. I might tweak it just a little more this weekend.
I also noticed that I'm dripping some oil from my oil pan drain plug and from one of the sides. Everything was torqued to spec. I plan on...
Even though I had some success yesterday with the truck, I still need some help. If you watch the video, I hover over the sight glass on the carb for a few seconds. I did this to demonstrate that the fuel level is above half way up the glass. My understanding is that the fuel level should be...
Hard to believe how fast time goes by. I’ve been super busy at work, but finally found some time to pull my carb and take a second look. I adjusted my float because I did find that it was slightly off. After mounting it back up to the truck, I invited my dad over to observe the second “first...
I’m really digging the log and it’s always helpful to see anyone’s tool list/parts list! Awesome pictures, too! My 40 is still immobile, but I’m headed down there next month in my Tundra.
