    Fan Clutch Replacement Help

Thankfully the bearing on the fan bracket still seems good. It’s smooth, no wobbles or noises. Originally I assumed that that was the part that failed. I’m due for a timing belt/water pump job soon. I’ll replace the bracket while I’m in there, once all the front end timing covers are off and such.

    Fan Clutch Replacement Help

I think I did it the hard way. I unbolted the fan from the clutch, then left the fan resting inside the shroud and only removed the clutch from the engine bay. Getting the nuts on and off the fan was tricky, but thankfully I’ve got small hands. Now to retrieve everything that fell down and...

    Fan Clutch Replacement Help

Thanks for the input everyone, I’ve successfully separated the clutch from the pulley. Now I can’t get the clutch and fan combo out of the engine bay. No matter which way I go about it, I get stuck on the shroud or the thermostat housing or the upper radiator hose inlet. Any tips for that?

    Fan Clutch Replacement Help

Hi 100 series gang, Last week my cooling fan clutch on my 2000 LX470 started giving me issues. It squeaks intermittently and now it’s locked in the “engaged” state 100% of the time. (304k miles) I can’t spin the fan by hand (with the engine off of course) without the pulley turning with it...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

A buddy of mine had them on his V8 4runner and loved them, and I’ve driven on some KO2s and Goodyear wranglers that kinda sucked. So far these are quiet and comfortable, but I’ll post an update once I really live with them. Wildpeaks would’ve been my other choice

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

New shoes for my daily: Fifteen52 Turbomac HD Classics in carbon grey (matches the two-tone lower trim pretty well), 17x8.5in with 0 offset. Tires are Firestone Destination X/Ts in 285/70 (about a 32.8” diameter). Next up is an AHC fluid change, pressure check, and ride height sensor lift...

    Mid-Road-Trip Vibration (DONE)

Hi all, everything is fine!! Time for an update/conclusion: It seems like a bad trailer tire was the culprit. I unhooked the trailer and the vibration stopped. Everything was tight and in proper working order on my LX, but at some point near the start of the trip we believe a belt slipped on...

    Mid-Road-Trip Vibration (DONE)

Thanks for the input, here’s what I found… Front CVs appear to be fully seated, and I crawled under to look for torn boots or grease that slung everywhere. Looks clean. Rear suspension bushings seem to be tight, I’ve got some tools with me so I got in there with a pry bar and wiggled around...

    Mid-Road-Trip Vibration (DONE)

Hi mudders, having some trouble today… My 2000 LX470 is struggling with a driveline vibration, and I’m hoping for some help diagnosing it. I’ve searched for posts and read as much as I could, but I can’t find a conclusive answer. The vibration is first noticeable at about 35-40mph, and...

Wanted 100 Series Tail Light Guards / Grills ($40?)

Hi all, Looking for a complete set of “damage multipliers”, I know most of you hate them but I like the look! It should be a 4 piece set for both inner and outer tail lights. Not sure what they’re worth, but I’ll say ten bucks each for $40 total?? Let me know if you have a different price in...

    SE Michigan Cruiser Shop

Ypsi/Ann Arbor chiming in, I just had my new-to-me LX470 undercoated by Krown Stateline, which is owned by Ragnarok Motorworks I believe? Whoever I spoke to on the phone was definitely a Land Cruiser enthusiast (maybe Dennis?) and also offered to do any work I needed on my 100. The two guys who...
