What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Not bad. The pieces are sized to give a good root weld. Makes the grinding better, no ground through welds. Tack up is simple, start at frame horned and worth outward. Hardest part is just running all the seams, takes time. Anfs i usually weld in rubber slippers and t shirts, so i got mean...

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

picked up a bumper kit from Northwest Trail Innovations. About the same price as replacing the stock bumper corner that is somewhere on I5 in lower Clark county. Way cooler too. I forgot how to post pics. Any Help?

Readers Rides, for pics and specs on your Toy(s).

This is my new Toy, 1994 vintage, dubbed Son of Snowball. This is my 17 yr old's entry into the game. Not quit ready for the full cruiser, mentally or monetarily. Paid 1200 cause he has a leaky water pump shaft, and a duct tape and 3" abs intake hose, but no biggie. Only 2 days old to me, and...

    Bilstein 5100's on LCs

Ok, so then it's mostly cost and ride preference? There isn't a major mechanical reason it sounds like. Anyone have a solid source that stocks for 80s?

    92 - FJ80 overheating --Help

how long into the drive does it overheat? pretty much straight to it? if it's pegged, but drops around same time you turn ac off/heater on, could be unrelated - could be defective stat, one that is sticking. Stat ends up opening up, sort of by pure "thermodynamic force", but not at proper...

    Bilstein 5100's on LCs

OK, latecomer, but have same question, sort of. Have 4600's on my 91, want to lift my 94 with 50mm OME coils and use the 5100's. I like the firmer ride of the bilstein, but dont know if the 5100 are stiffer than the 4600? Also my local shop is telling me he's had nothing but trouble getting...

    92 - FJ80 overheating --Help

Check condition of radiator cap? Also, used to drive Fords, one had a flex-a-lite and it could not cool the radiator as effectively as the stock fan, had overheating issues until i went back to stock fan profile. Not to say that aftermarket fans are always bad, but seems like there's a fine...

Yukon Gear and Febest axle parts

solid point Sounds like they aren't terrible, so I guess I'll get my seals via interwebs and give them a shot. If they suck, I have learned a valuable lesson.

Yukon Gear and Febest axle parts

I just need to replace an axle seal at this point. They seem to have the whole selection of parts for the front axle, so was thinking of buying the overhaul kit and doing some service type maintenance on both sides. That said, the seller on Amazon was advertising the seal kits as fine German...
