Does a 200 LC or LX really need a warranty?

2002 SL500 Silver Arrow. R129s are tanks if they are cared for correctly. I’ve replaced a few sensors and motor mounts but it is a very solid car. 70k miles. They were based off a shortened W124 platform which is ridiculously robust and was used for taxi duty overseas.

Does a 200 LC or LX really need a warranty?

Lol my LX costs pennies to keep on the road. It’s a Toyota truck not a Range Rover. These are not expensive to maintain and they don’t really break either. My dealer friend in service LXs hardly come in at all for repairs.

Does a 200 LC or LX really need a warranty?

Show me facts that more 5.7s have these serious issues than ones that don’t and then I’d be concerned. I’m not in an alternate reality. I have 142k miles and nothing has ever gone wrong, at all, other than my spouse frying the alternator from jumping it wrong. The 5.7 is a tank. If I have any...

Does a 200 LC or LX really need a warranty?

I've got 142,000 hard miles on mine and it's never drank a drop or needed anything. Not really, my LS430 never breaks. This truck has never broken. Even my 22yo Mercedes is a tank. My radiator is fine and looks fine "where the hairline cracks should be". Even if it did blow at 142k, that's not...

    I'll take my chances....

Does a 200 LC or LX really need a warranty?

A new LX might be a different story. The 5.7 is indestructible, so is the transmission.

Does a 200 LC or LX really need a warranty?

No you don't need a warranty. I have a 2013 with 142k that I beat the s*** out of and it still looks and drives like it's new, it's never had an issue, ever. The radiator issues are overblown. Open my hood and my engine cover has mud all over it. What is the point owning these if you don't...

    4 banger LC, thoughts?

Right, I never said Toyota doesn't know how to do hybrid well (they do), I'm just not that thrilled about it being in the Land Cruiser. I'm simply a meat and potatoes V8 guy. No replacement for displacement IMO. I get 21MPG highway with the big V8.

    4 banger LC, thoughts?

That's a big deal to a lot of people. The big 350 V8 is my favorite part of my 200.

    4 banger LC, thoughts?

Yes, I've driven several. I never said it was junk, I just don't want that in my Land Cruiser which is supposed to be a brick **** house, not a rolling example of what the government has forced Toyota to do to eek every ounce of gas out of a gallon, batteries and motors and all. It's very...

    4 banger LC, thoughts?

Your ideal Land Cruiser really would come with a 4 cylinder engine? Really? No, it's an opinion. Have you ever heard a 4cylinder under load? The buzzy, coffee can roar of a 4 pot do it for ya? Because it doesn't for me. "Best" engine doesn't mean most desirable. The 2200 that went into the...

    4 banger LC, thoughts?

I have heard that Diesels, modern ones, are very troublesome basically because of emissions bull****. That's a shame because they are insanely capable, the diesel HD work trucks. That said, I find it hilarious that the car mags are pushing the GM Diesel on their Yukon, etc. I'm so glad it gets...

    4 banger LC, thoughts?

Gas will go right back down as soon as we get people back in office who don't hate fossil fuels. Maybe not $1.99 again, but significantly cheaper. And yes people will always buy big trucks, V8 GM trucks and SUVs they can't even keep on lots. I had to search for a Denali and it wasn't easy. And...

    4 banger LC, thoughts?

Yes and there's 100% a demographic of American consumers that don't want an EV SUV, or hybrid, or downsized crap. I want NA V8. Why do you think GM still makes and sells them like hotcakes? They're not gonna stop anytime soon, either.

People on TV do all the time. I had more but deleted it as I don't want to get too far into politics either and risk this thread, but the preceding sentence is accurate. Please refrain from name calling, I would appreciate it. I'm not on here to get nasty.
