Front and rear drive trains from a 3 speed 69 FJ40. They worked fine before I replaced them because I put in a 4 speed transmission that required different drive trains.
$300 for the pair. Buyer pays for shipping.
Used 3 speed FJ40 transmission. It still worked fine when I replaced it with a 4 speed transmission. It could probably use a rebuild before you put it back in. I have the shifter too if you want it. Transmission $500, Shifter $75. Buyer pays for shipping.
I was finally able to use a large crescent wrench and some heat to bend those rails back to flat. Then on my wench plate I drilled out the holes slightly larger and was able to fit it on there nicely now.
Used Cool Cruisers HFS 8284 Bumper - $200
I want to use a different Winch and it won’t work with this bumper. The HFS 8274 bumper is great if you plan to install the Warn 8274 winch. I just need to get the right bumper from Cool Cruisers for my winch. Can deliver in Los Angeles area, otherwise...
When I pulled everything off my front rails it appears they got pretty bent up the last time I got pulled out of trouble. Does anyone know an easy way to straighten them? The 1/8 steel doesn’t move at all with a hammer.
I am trying to install a Smittybuilt winch on my FJ40. I purchased the HFS bumper from coolcruisers which has the vertical mount holes. The X20 10K winch is a little long but can still fit between the rails but I either have to cut or ditch the triangle shaped bumper support brackets. Underneath...
How important is it to have the front DS 90 out of phase. I just got mine back from installing new U joints and getting them rebalanced and the front and back are both in phase. I don’t really want to take it apart to put it 90 out of phase since they already balanced it.
Thanks everyone one. I think I am seeing the convergence on trusting the fill hole on the side. I also saw another post that if you over fill you are risking having the transmission oil retain air and turn foamy.
So I think I will try filling from the top just because I have it open and it’s...
When I opened up my h41 fill hole a little drips out telling me it’s full. But when I look down from the top through the shifter I can see pretty far down there even to the reverse gears and I don’t see any fluid. When I originally filled this transfer box a few months ago it didn’t take the...
Thanks for the tip. I ended up jacking up the tire and then everything moved around freely and I was able to center the bearing and tap the steering rod back on. It went on pretty easy.
