    Intro: My $2,700 '03 Tundra

I didn't see an FAQ for Tundras. I appreciate guidance and/or links to your favorite informative threads. I'm looking at Cooper tires and sticking with 17" rims, but getting new ones. Nothing fancy, just decent steelies. I'll need a new DS door and steering wheel, carpet kit, seat covers...

    Intro: My $2,700 '03 Tundra

Plans: My expectations for a low cost truck are about $2,400 in cost per year. Calculated over the time I have the truck. (Purchase $ + repairs beyond normal maintenance - residual value when I'm done with it. All divided by the time I've owned it.) I figure for about $2,700 purchase $ + $3,200...

    Intro: My $2,700 '03 Tundra

Hey! I've owned 5 Land Cruisers over the years and decided it's time for a truck. I've been watching the '02 to '06 Tundras for over a year now, waiting for the right truck/mileage/price combo to come along. I'm not sure this was it, but I jumped on it and now it's mine. -2003 SR5 TRD 4.7L...

'92 - Does a AFM failure always throw a code?

Update: We've been through the tuneup, the distributor was arcing and that was a problem. Now the mechanic is replacing the IAC and the housing it connects to is cracked. I don't have the rig here so I can't take a picture, but does anyone have one of those housings, or have a connection that...

'92 - Does a AFM failure always throw a code?

Thanks! Always a good reminder. I drove behind her bringing it home. It does fine until the engine warms up, then lags and blows dark, fuel rich smoke out the exhaust. We talked about it, and she just wants to take it to a mechanic rather than wait to diagnose and fix it in the driveway. We've...

'92 - Does a AFM failure always throw a code?

None yet. It started before we left town for 4 days in a different vehicle. I said, "It's probably not a big deal to fix, but we'll need to take care of it when we get back." Immediately when we get back, at 10pm, and after 8 hours of driving, my daughter hops in the cruiser to see her boyfriend...

'92 - Does a AFM failure always throw a code?

Getting lots of hesitation while driving. I'm thinking multiple choice 1. MAF 2. Bad fuel 3. Fuel filter 4. Fuel injectors 5. Fuel Pump 6. Distributor No check engine light and I don't think it's burned out. Did I miss anything?

    EWD for rear locker?

We are troubleshooting the rear locker on my son-in-law's '99 100 series. I've been through a few of the rear locker problem threads. I own an 80 and I'm familiar with the basic troubleshooting of just drive it until it remembers to engage (figure 8's, gravel, CDL engaged in low...). Tried that...

    Coolant spill clean up help

We used the pressure washer inside, just pulled all the plugs to drain. Then we used a leaf blower to mostly dry it, then hooked up the R2D2 type dehumidifier from the house for an hour. Worked great. It looks like 46 sq. feet is enough to cover the floor, but not quite the wheel wells. Here's...

    Coolant spill clean up help

We started last night and got all the seats and things removed by the time it got too dark to work. Back into it this morning. Pressure washing is great, but I wonder if a good quality suction carpet cleaner would be faster. (Videos in the Google photos album) Morty interior refresh -...

    Coolant spill clean up help

I went with the Siless products first suggested. I got 46 sq. ft. of the Butyl and 36 of the closed cell foam. I figure I'll start at the front and work my way back. If I run out I can leave the rear carpet out while I order more. I got the rollers as well. About $165. That's an expensive gallon...
