Hey Road Runner,
Sorry to hear your baseplate was on backorder. Glad it finally arrived. For the wire harness, I ran the one set of wires inside the frame rail all the way to the back of the vehicle to power the taillights. A second wire runs into the inside drivers footwell to provide the...
Hey Road Runner,
We flat towed our 100-series for probably about 15k miles. The motorhome is gone, but the 100-series is still ours. It still has the Blue Ox tow base plate on the front that has come in surprisingly handy if you ever need to tow the LC somewhere and have a second car, like...
Thanks for the ideas.
I got back in there this morning, removed the inspection cover off the bottom of the bell housing and removed 2 ball bearings and some metal shavings. I turned the flywheel over twice by putting a wrench on the crank pulley and re-inspected. Ran a magnet tool across the...
Hello Mud,
Question for the collective group, my starter went out at 292k miles. Did the work tonight and looks like there may be some metal flakes that may have fallen down into the flywheel. I vacuumed everything really good while the starter was out. After re-assembly I started it up and it...
Our 100 Series is set up for flat towing, I put in a 2nd battery, so that if the main battery is dead, I can just push a button and jump start from the Aux battery. I've got the 12v (7 pin from the RV) charging both batteries when we flat and on really long tow days, or if I forget to turn of...
Put me on the waitlist for purchase if the day comes you part with this tow car. I’ve thought about trading my silver for either black or white, but the thought of setting another one up to tow keeps my wants in check.
My wife is joking that they found some extra bids after the auction and she’s call for a full recount and certification. I’m calling in a fleet of lawyers.
Ha ha.
Congrats sounds like you have more info than my broker could provide. My max was $13,250 so makes sense you’d win the bid at $13,500.
I’ll just be curious to hear what my broker says on Monday.
OliverLC if it doesn’t go to me for whatever reason, I hope it ends up in your hands. At least that would keep the story alive on Mud. It be a bummer to have it go to a stranger and we never hear about it again.
I didn’t look at the LX when I was out there, but if I’m up there on Monday I’m...
I got a call yesterday from my broker who wasn’t sure my bid at $12k was valid. They couldn’t provide any more details about what the winning bid was because they called at 3:45 yesterday and when I asked what the winning bid was they said they’d have to call the yard on Monday.
Basically it was...
I have a similar mentality anything above $12k, I’d be in it about $15.5k after auction fees, sales tax and registration. And you haven’t addressed any repairs or deferred maintenance it might need. And it would still have a salvage title for me in Nevada.
Whatever happens it was a nice cruiser...
It doesn’t make any sense to me either. I got an invoice from my broker for the $12,000, but haven’t heard anything likely due to the holiday. Maybe there will be more news tomorrow.
