    Thoughts on 1991 Cruiser

Ok, in case you were interested, the seller sold the 1991 LC to a buyer who had been looking at it previously. So I didn't look at it after all. For reference, the seller was kind enough to share with me that he got $8500.

I appreciate the healthy debate and passion of all you owners. There are other LCs for sale in my area - FJ80s, FZJ80s, and 100s. I will look at this FJ80 this morning but also look at some of the others. It seems like many LCs for sale in my area (Portland OR) are about $5K higher that what...

Yes - quite high but a lot of work done as well. It's close by so worth a look and a chat with the seller to check it out. Love the two-tone on your rig and it's super clean! Congrats.

Nice rig. That's what I'm after - clean and reliable. We'll see how it goes tomorrow but I agree that the rebuild raises questions.

Great info. I'm driving it tomorrow so will have more observations then. The seller was planning to build an overland rig and that's what I'd like, but as light and simple as possible. I don't know why the motor was rebuilt at 164k and that actually seems like a minus. Twilly - do you have a...

I'm not planning on it being a daily driver but I do want to explore and camp out of it. Do the 3FE's run cooler?

    Thoughts on 1991 Cruiser

Hi all - been traveling lately so not looking for potential cruisers as much. However, there is one in my area that looks interesting (engine rebuilt, new brakes, cooling system, etc.) that I'd like to look at. It's in the Portland Craigslist. I don't want to start an argument - but I know...

I still haven't heard back from the seller so I'll ping him again. I'd like to see the diesel!

It's not at a dealer. It's a private party sale that's not listed yet and learned about it from a friend. The dealer shots were from another poster trying to help out and provide an example truck at a lower price. Thanks everyone! I'll keep looking.

Wow $4,000 seems like a great deal - congrats! Sounds like this one is way off so I'll keep looking or he may decide to come down on price. Do you guys think lockers are a big deal for my intended purpose and, how much do they add to the price? Thanks again!

Thanks for all the input so far. I should have mentioned that the vehicle is stock except he removed the roof rack. Rebuild was done by a local Toyota (not LC specific) shop. I live in Portland. I really wanted lockers but only planning on camping/overlanding so maybe don't need them - but...
