Have you tried cleaning the door switches? Mine were not working, cleaned with some electrical contact cleaner. All worked after that.

That is my '91 FJ80. would like to join group but having issues with the website processing submission.

Do the re-gear - Well worth the re-gear/ especially if you want to run bigger tyres. Helps a lot in getting the truck going and on HWY grades.
