Yes, you need to remove that. It’s only 4 nuts to the intake and the clamp on the other side. Be careful of the gasket on the intake side. You can reuse it as long as it doesn’t tear.

I forgot to mention that I put a receiver extension piece on the carrier to get it out past the tire. I don’t know the brand, I bought it used about 10 years ago.

Slee with dual swing outs, I didn’t have the ladder on at the time, but it still fits. That is a big pig KTM 530, I carry a Beta 300RR now with no problem.

I like to tell people who ask that it’s a rav4.
