That's the problem... nothing that would effect it that much. I have changed the shocks and leaf springs, I have added a snorkel, added wheel arch flares and 2 spot lights. Changed the wheels (same size) but bigger tyres with 3cm wheel spacers. I took the hard top off and put on a soft top. I...

HI Guys. Thanks to everyone for their input. I have had the mechanic strip the engine, put in new pistons and a piston-rings, re-grind the cylinders.... also had new injectors put in. So far it seems to have cured the problem. Will know more when I see how much oil I consume.

Yes, it is a 3b Engine. I don't have a manual either.. I could only find manuals on the F models, not the B models. Thanks for your advice. I will see if I can get a compression test done tomorrow. At least then I will have a better idea of where I stand.

Thanks for the reply. He did not tell me to seat the rings ... I don't even know what this is.. and I do not know if he did it. Likewise, I do not know exactly what he did with the Injectors or pump. I just bought the parts he told me to buy and assumed (maybe foolishly) he would do everything...
