Cost of travel conversion 98 HZJ75

@Henkie I completely disagree with the comments suggesting you that 6k isnt enough to sort a Troopy for Overlanding. I just drove my Troopy from NZ to Edinburgh and i spent about that to fit it out. In all honesty, shoving a mattress in the back and having 2 jerry cans for water and travelling...

New here, from Australia, where Landcruisers Rule the Outback.

I have a hzj78 with a 1hz, and whenever I leave it somewhere dodgy i remove the fuse called 'engine' which stops fuel being pumped to the engine. It will crank over but not fire. I reckon it would take a thief a solid 30 mins to figure that one out, and it only takes a second to remove it. The...

    1hz intermittent starting issue

Hi guys, I have an hzj78 with a 1hz, 320,000 kms, uses no coolant or oil. 3 times in the last year, but 2 of those times recently, I have started it from cold and it just runs like a rattley box of spanners, sounds like it's missing, just horrible! I immediately turn it off, then on again and...

How to inspect HZJ75 in the bush?

Have a bloody good inspection and a strong wiggle of the tie rod ends before you drive it any great distance! I would have a decent sniff of the rear drive shaft, they hang pretty low and often get dented. Quite expensive to rebalance or replace.

    Tie rod end

Hi guys, Currently driving around the world in an hzj78. Been getting some minor steering wobble for a few months, but the rough roads of India have made it a fair bit worse. Had a real good look at it today and the front left tie rod end has a lot of play where the knuckle is (inside the...

    Pictures of 70 series

I know you guys like pictures of 70 series as much as I do, so here are a few snaps I've taken whilst driving mine through south east Asia for the last few months 😁. Can you guess what work was being done to the one in the workshop? Haha

    HZJ78 - Transmission rebuild

Roscofj73 - all good points, amd the only reason this was happening on this r151f was due to that bearing collapsing on the front of the transfer case. Given I will have a completely re built r151f and transfer case (throwing a new heavy duty clutch too), have any of you guys got any idea on...
