FJ40 Alignment Questions - Axle centering and Camber shims

Thanks to those of you that have helped on other threads! I thought I'd try starting another focused on today's task at hand: alignment. The truck is a 1974 FJ40 freshly reassembled. I initially had the front camber shims on backwards, that made it handle evil. It still handles terribly but...

My FJ40 is actively trying to kill me - steering help please

Yes, thanks though I have made that mistake before. It didnt seem to have any play in the box. It didnt have a heat shield to protect from exhaust manifold and pipe but I made a pretty one up to try and extend its life. One clamp was loose as pb4ugo noted. I clamped the other end for the drive...

Toronto cruiser head here!! Needs a good TLC mechanic.

I have been unable to solve a low-vacuum, ignition and carb issue and need someone in the GTA who knows FJ petrol motors specifically F155...I live in King City and saw that old reference to CrewFab, dont seem to be around. I see you there Crushers, but the truck is only driveable for a short...

Builds 1974 FJ40 Restoration Build Thread

Just a bit, but not where I expected it. With a high idle ~1000 the AFR's are ~13:1, timing 14 degrees and 11 inches of vacuum. When closing down the throttle plate and adjusting the mixture screw so idle is ~700n the AFRs are 13:1, timing is 14 degrees and vacuum is 9 inches. I also notice it...
