100 series sound system (year 2000)

I installed a Pioneer head unit with Apple CarPlay. JBL component speakers in front doors, coaxials in rear. Stock subwoofer but had to refoam it.

Mister Blue the sunburned 2004 diesel 105

Sounds like it was an agricultural vehicle? Nice job resurrecting it, and bringing into compliance. Hope you can get the A/C working.

Looks like a lot of fun. It goes, but does it stop? Haha. Anyway, thanks for sharing and keep us posted.

First Landcruiser, rust and wind noise

My 01 also has wind noise. It was missing the left inboard channel trim so I got one and installed it, but it didn’t help. I learned to live with the noise. But I’m pretty sure the windshield was replaced by previous owner.

    Discovered Radiator Leak

Pulled into garage and heard hissing, gurgling sounds from under hood. Opened hood. Reservoir still between the lines. Small puddle underneath engine, and I could see fluid left bottom corner of radiator. Ugh. Anyone deal with this before? thanks

Update: got the vehicle back from the shop yesterday (Midway Auto, Tucson, AZ). The sound was a broken flex plate. They had to remove the tranny to replace it. All good now. Thanks for everyone’s help.

Best tire for stock 16" wheels for COMFORT & snow/rain HWY

Michelin Defenders would be my first choice. However, they were back ordered for many months in Jan 2022, or were unavailable even to order. I ended getting Yokohama Geolanders instead and have been very happy.

Yes, I added small amount of oil (maybe 1/4 qt) and the sound seemed to lessen. But when I put it in reverse to back it out into the driveway, it came back. So I don’t know.

The oil was just below the “F” on the dipstick before I added about a 1/4 qt. Last oil change was 1 yr ago with Vavoline synthetic 5W-30. About 7k miles since last oil change.

I put more oil and it helped a bit, but the sound remained. Timing belt done approx. 102k miles ago. 258k miles total. Bad rod bearing? I’m going to take to shop after the holiday. Please keep me in your prayers. lol. Thank you everyone.

Here it is again with the cover removed. I also got recording underneath because that seemed to be where it was loudest.

Thank you. The quieter tick tick has always been there. I believe that’s normal. But the loud tap or thack sound. It does not go away after driving or warmed up. Oil level is full and not very dirty. Thanks. I will do that…
