We have a pretty large Cruiser community in the greater Seattle area, the Seattle Cruiserheads (really covers Tacoma to Stanwood, but it Started in Seattle.). With a facebook group and Google group you can join and get any info/help you might need when you get here. There is a South Sound...
In case I missed it, where in the PNW are you headed? We do have some 70's in the greater Seattle and Portland area. Also the club just north in Vancouver has some parts around in case you need something.
For the 24v lights, there are also Caterpillar dealers around that have them in stock if...
You need to be careful with the amount of weight you put up top on the FRP. Its not designed to handle a lot up there. The rain gutters are pretty minimal (and in my opinion not well designed in the first place, there should have been one over the sliding windows like the 4runner of the exact...
They look a lot like American Racing Wagon Wheels or something similar aftermarket. The cut outs have a tip that makes them look a little more triangular than the factory 16" ones.
Drove it to the annual Seattle Cruiserheads BBQ. There were two 70-series this year.
Also as a bonus a friend showed up with my old FJ40 and we compared them side by side
Are you going to run rope or cable? For rope with the ARB you are going to want to get an offset hawse, otherwise the rope is going to rub on the bumper. Mine is a simple Aries brand made of aluminum. You can go fancier and get something like a Factor 55 but this works well enough for $60. If...
Now if someone in the PNW gets rid of their factory seats for a sweet set of Scheelman's let me know, someday I dream of having matching seats. I dont know where the black-ish one that is my driver's seat is from, but it works.
Well that is good to know they are still out there. Rough on the price, but that is the 70 tax too I guess. Also that box gate Behemoth60 has is sweet.
In the mean time anyone had issues with the full doors and no top? I dont want to bend the top of the frames or the hinges.
What might be my dumb 73/74 question of the week. I was wondering how many of you drive around with the FRP top off and the back doors still on? Will the full doors act too much like a sail with the FRP top off? Has anyone had issues doing that? I have a 3b so the fastest its going is limited...
Those look like resistors that someone put in line to a set of lights. I am going to guess its a LED flicker solution. It was common a few years ago to do something similar for LED turn signals. But that is just a guess.
I suppose you could build out a spacer between the frame and the recovery point. I wonder how much extra leverage that would put on the bolts though. Seems like there needs to be more space there even for the factory shackles to articulate. That is disappointing to see though. I was looking at a...
