A '91 will be a fully mechanical A442, TC lockup only in 4th. Basically, driving with a trans temp gauge, you see trans temps rise anytime the trans is working, and not in lockup. Climbing grades in lower gears, makes a lot of heat!

North American 80 series came from factory with trans coolers, HDJ81's did not for some reason. Especially with a turbo upgrade, an external trans cooler is probably a good idea. That being said, I don't think it's going to help at all with the center hump heat transfer issue you're having...

No issues with hood clearance on mine, I had to extend the airbox lid stud though so the wingnut could clamp the lid down.

Manual injection pump would require manual adjustments to increase fueling.

I think it does matter, but I'm not the guy to provide the scientific explanation as to why. If it was me, I'd go with the lower CCA rating to get a matching pair.

For clarity, the intake screen heater is used for cold starting only, if you live somewhere that doesn't get "winter condition", then you're good. If you do see some cold, a coolant heater is recommended, an Espar or Webasto allows you to eliminate cold starting where ever you are, even when...

These can be mounted sideways as well as upright, if I was doing it over again I'd go with a side mount to make the exhaust routing easier. Great purchase, say goodbye to cold starts!
