Funny, mine was super hard almost like a plastic and I just assumed it was a different material so I left it...maybe I should replace it.
Let me know when your new fill hose comes in, if it's a softer/pliable rubber vs rigid.
Just letting everyone know I'm not dead. Haven't posted because I have been slammed with work and haven't had time to dig into this anymore. The okie rebuild remains the only way to drive the 60 without it stalling.
I assume this is still because of all the junk that was in my tank and got...
In my case, none of the lines were hard to get off, I was able to pull them all off by hand, including releasing the hose clamps by hand.
How did your tank removal go?
I had to drop twice but about a year apart. The first time, I had a leak from the gasket at the fuel pickup so I changed the gasket. At the time, I didn't realize how rusty my tank was so a year later I dropped the tank and ended up replacing it because it was so rusty and clogging my fuel filter.
I'm new to the forum but I am having the same problem. I don't see "New Conversation" when I go to my inbox. I received a DM and was able to respond but don't see any way to send a new DM to a member...what am I missing?
Since I have had to drop my tank twice (replaced it the second time), I figured I'd take some photos to help out anyone else that has to do this in the future. I'll post a link to a video too once I have the video posted.
Hope this helps someone else.
Thanks G-Man for all that input.
FWIW - I did the "okie rebuild" with it first idling while I was doing other stuff then drove it through my neighborhood - probably a 1-1.5 miles in total with the choke all the way closed (knob pulled all the way out) and it ran fine. The last 1/4 mile on the...
Thanks G-Man. Agreed and this is my plan, focusing on the engine first.
1. I don't know that I have a sight window, not that I have seen. Remember I'm a complete novice with this engine and used to working on more modern stuff. I will look for this though to check.
2. I will check the spark...
Sorry - totally my fault. Yes, by "wide open" I mean "totally closed". I didn't realize this was how it worked, but I meant "choke knob pulled all the way out, light on, choke engaged"
