While converting myfj60 gasser to a 2h diesel, I needed to come up with a 12volt solenoid for the transfer activator. It was priced at $600 ouch! The remedy was $17 air switch that runs off the vacuum pump. Flip of the switch and you are there. No electric. I got the tip off this site.
There is a pitman arm on top of the transfercase that all the linkage connects too. On my 1983 fj60 the nut under the arm came loose and allowed the linkage rod to drop down and lock it into low range. After splitting the transfercase, it was obvious what had happened. You cant see the nut...

Converting an fj60 to a 2h diesel and trying to work out all the kinks. Motor mounts have been relocated and trial fit performed. I need to be taught howto get the oil pressure guage to work and also where to throw a "t" into that port so i can run a mechanical guage as well.
