You can easily resolve the plastic fenderliner interference with a heat gun and maybe 5 minutes of your time. Very simple to just heat it up slightly and press it inward maybe 1/2" until it cools back down. That's what I did...

Everything you say makes a lot of sense.
Asked the Service Manager to order up the new line (does it come with a new O-Ring preinstalled?) and the Nylog should be arriving in the next couple of hours via Amazon.

To clarify: The photo you posted was just for reference...? It looks like the AC Compressor side of the hose... my leak is up on the other end nearest to the AC condenser itself. Are you saying that the upper connector has a roll pin (or two) also?
A new hose section to replace the original...
AWESOME!
Thanks for that... I actually ordered up a bottle from Amazon (it will arrive today) and will insist that the Toyota Tech do this little "experiment" prior to any of the larger parts-swapping initiatives. It will only cost us a few minutes to try and ultimately might save him money...
Thanks for the suggestion.
What is the result of the connection after Nylog is applied? Is it basically a glue (like LocTite) that will permanently bond the O-ring to the fitting once it cures? I'm concerned that using this product might end up bonding everything together in a way that...
Hello Everyone....
Adding my own tale of woe to this thread.... 2001 Land Cruiser, just had the local dealership swap in a new AC condenser due to a crack at the lower corner of the tank. New Toyota OEM part (P/N: 88460-60903) at around $400 (which I provided after purchasing through...
@Cypher
Agree with previous comments... this is basically a PERFECT writeup. Good photos, clear instructions with relevant P/Ns and sets proper expectations.
I was considering letting the local Toyota Dealership do my Axle and XferCase service for a few hundred bucks (because I am always...

Speedometer error is also an Odometer error....
With the larger tire your odometer will read low, just as your speedometer reads low. So when you go to do the fuel economy calculation you will need to factor that out of your final MPG calculation.

Hi RKT,
This is an interesting option as well… most of my factory “wood” looks fine and being able to find a perfect match would allow me to swap out only the faded parts….
Any photos of your interior with the new trim installed?
I wonder if there is such a thing as Genuine Toyota trim parts...
This looks great and very close to my original color/style... I think I will pick up this same exact set.
ONE QUESTION: What is done about the stenciling around the vent controls? It looks like there may be small cutouts on this kit to allow the markings to show through as opposed to having...
Whatever loss of mileage actually occurs with a larger tire, the impact will seem even MORE amplified due to the speedometer/ odometers reading low after the swap.
