Agree with previous comments... this is basically a PERFECT writeup. Good photos, clear instructions with relevant P/Ns and sets proper expectations.
I was considering letting the local Toyota Dealership do my Axle and XferCase service for a few hundred bucks (because I am always...

Speedometer error is also an Odometer error....
With the larger tire your odometer will read low, just as your speedometer reads low. So when you go to do the fuel economy calculation you will need to factor that out of your final MPG calculation.

Hi RKT,
This is an interesting option as well… most of my factory “wood” looks fine and being able to find a perfect match would allow me to swap out only the faded parts….
Any photos of your interior with the new trim installed?
I wonder if there is such a thing as Genuine Toyota trim parts...
This looks great and very close to my original color/style... I think I will pick up this same exact set.
ONE QUESTION: What is done about the stenciling around the vent controls? It looks like there may be small cutouts on this kit to allow the markings to show through as opposed to having...
Whatever loss of mileage actually occurs with a larger tire, the impact will seem even MORE amplified due to the speedometer/ odometers reading low after the swap.

Thanks. Me too.... it's been a lot of work and literally a dozen years of effort and learning as I go.

Not it the LC realm....but that's exactly what I'm doing now on a full-size Chevy project. 19" of clearance under the pumpkin by using Unimog 404 portals on a Ford 9" centersection. The entire axle centerline moves UP by 4.5" as a result of the portal boxes which is a massive improvement. It...
Nah, it’s all good. I ended up buying the K02s and they ended up being really decent in the snow.... then I got a relocation offer from work and ended up in Texas.
Tires are wearing like iron by the way. Pleased with my choice.

From a couple years back, but if anyone still wants to see a 100% stock (no lift) tire size upgrade to a 285. 2001 Land Cruiser

Only issue was a small interference on the lower spash guard at the outside edge. A gently heatgun application softened...
This sounds exactly like my current issue: 2001 Land Cruiser with drivers front window down (but won't go back UP).
Some of the info on this thread seems faulty. The 2001 does NOT have a passenger side fusebox, and the window motors are NOT individually fused. According to the Driver's...
The non-CarPlay menu is pretty basic. I just hit a button to reconnect to the phone (in my pocket) via Bluetooth and the music picks up where it left off....even if I had previously been using the CarPlay interface.
The volume level between the BlueTooth and CarPlay inputs is slightly off. I...
