I’ve actually bought a few things from Brooke. Snake blinders, dash latch etc. I might have to hit him up.

At the point, I’ve just hit the notify me when available at rock auto and denso and hope not to fry in this Georgia heat over the next 2 months

UPDATE: leak test completed. Uv light with glasses. I added one can of Freon and uv dye. Connections from firewall are good. Driers good. Condenser fittings aren’t leaking. The only place I saw that gives me a big concern is the compressor itself. Ok the bottom side the front seal lit up under...

HELP! Denso AC Condenser Part 477-0154. Im restoring my 86 FJ60. Whats everyone using as a new replacement since its Discontinued?

I’d be interested as well. Probably pulling the original condenser this weekend.

Going to try the uv dye but this is a great idea. I grew up looking for air leaks this way with a spray bottle and a dawn mixture. (Usually looking on tires though)

Yeah I budgeted a certain number to getting this done and if not I’ll just be hot and enjoy the ride. This Georgia heat and humidity is rough right now though.

Worst case scenario I’ll just tough out the summer until the Ls goes in. I’ll still be met with a condenser issue then though.

I’ve called jegs and summit. Even ordered from Amazon just to tell me they’re back ordered. Good call on the o rings I didn’t even think about that. I’ll do the leak test and see what’s happening and redo all the o rings if needed.

The condenser actually looks good. The sad part is I’m just trying to get everything fixed to enjoy the next year while compiling parts for a Ls swap. I’ll need a good condenser then too though. Ha!

Part number on the aftermarket condenser? I’m going to check for leaks the next few days.

Yeah i switched over to r134. I always assumed that vacuum was a good indicator of leak test. I bought a large set of o rings from harbor freight and used those only when o rings weren’t supplied with the parts I bought. For instance when I bought the new drier it came with o rings. Will add...

1987 fj60* Sorry for the lengthy intro: The saga continues with my ac. I replaced evaporator, low pressure switch, expansion valve, drier and every o-ring. I pulled vacuum and it held for 8 hours so I called it good enough and filled with refrigerant. It worked well enough over the next few...
