Sent the 55/80 to paint today. Long time in the making.

Just like that, we're off to paint & exhaust. Picked the worst day to transport a vehicle, and had to wrap the 55/80 in my heavy duty tarp. Still got water inside.

Body needed to go back on for the exhaust as it slips between chassis and body. Body is off to paint in 2 weeks

Scraped and trimmed. Underside about 85% done. Cab back onto chassis. Exhaust booked in. Tailshaft bolted in.

Started the dreaded job of removing the rubber lining from under the cab. Without a rotisseerie I hooked in with my headphones on loud. Mix of hand scraper and wire wheel. About 4hrs in the rear section, another 8hrs or so until I'm happy to finally send the cab off to paint. I am a sucker...

Took 130mm out of the tail shaft and threw in some tacks to work out allignments. Ordering a custom shaft once everything is mint. Also took some time in Google Gemini to put the 55/80 in Japan, which is a life goal for me. If you have any hook ups for 55s in Japan please DM me.

Spring brings a fair amount of rain to Sydney, which also brings out the mosquitos. PIcked up a few side walls to help protect the chassis. This also get it out from under a tarp, which is a huge step forward. Bout he closest to a shed it'll get.
