I’m kind of thinking that I’ll just skip the bags altogether and do the lift as soon as I get home. I assumed that towing in L was going to be an issue, but you’re right that it wouldn’t be. Only thing could be the AHC taking on all the weight but I’m getting rid of it anyways.
Hey Daniel,
First, you live in an awesome town. We just went to the Summer Festival -- which we had no idea was going on until we pulled into Bend.
So on the way up here from Crater Lake one of the helper airbags I installed blew out. My LX instantly went into L mode and stayed there. I...
In the middle of an 8 week road trip pulling a travel trailer and I think my AHC is about toasted. Planned on installing an Ironman kit when we got home but might need to see if I can do it sooner. Anyone have recommendations on a shop?
Just wanted to give a shoutout to Metal Tech. I bought my sliders last month, a few weeks before this group buy was announced. I hit them up re their 30 day price guarantee and asked if I needed to do anything to get my purchase refunded. This was their reply:
"Tommy, you have done all you need...
We actually looked at that same Jayco. Nice setup! That's great to know about the 200 as well. I figure part of the mediocre experience was climbing 4k ft of elevation in moderate wind, and the elevation itself. We're headed down to Sedona for our first camping trip in a couple weeks. Probably...
@BudgetLC haha totally. I'm okay with going slower. My worry after the first leg of the tow on Sat was that my range is totally shot (@ 6.7 mpg). I was already looking at listings for 200 series and cursing myself for not researching this more. If I was getting 130mi before stressing about...
I'd be interested in the gear swap. I searched for 4.56 gears and can't really find anything for the 100s. Lots of 4.88 kits but it seems that all the 4.56s I can find are listed for FJ80s. I think that's beyond my skills at this point, might need to call a local mechanic to check feasibility...
I figured that was a main source of it. We pulled a 2200# popup with the Sienna and it pulled better than the LX and this trailer.
btw, I've seen people mention you before, I had no idea you're here in Flagtown. We should meet up some time.
I've gone through all the towing threads and didn't find any discussion on this.
We just bought a 2018 Rockwood Roo 183 (#3900) hybrid trailer. I drove out to TX from AZ in my 07' LX470 with 140k on the clock (and 275/70/18 AT) to pick it up. We travelled about 1300mi (3,200 ft elevation to...
First thing I did this weekend was dig out from the 36in of snow we got in one day.
Then I cleared up my headlight lenses with the Mother's Nulens kit. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GZLMEPM/?tag=ihco-20
Edit: Totally forgot to mention that the snow inspired me to upgrade...
On a recommendation from a buddy of mine with a GX I got the X2Power Premium AGM BCI Group 27F. So far so good. It was 30 degrees this morning and it fired up with a quickness. :steer:

The only thing I didn't hook back up was the brake...
Looks like it was the battery. I ruled it out earlier because I tried to put one of those rechargeable battery jump blocks on it, and it didn't seem to do anything. It hit me later that the truck behaved differently when I had that battery block hooked up. So I charged it fully, attached it to...
Weird, yeah as far as I can tell I didn't touch anything but the brake controller in terms of a bad ground. I did unhook the negative battery terminal a few times while I was working back there. Maybe I need to remove it again and clean the terminal. Could it be something behind the radio? I...
