    Clutch master/slave question

Thanks All, Yeah - the sites show some pretty conflicting info. No doubt the 3/4" master is right. Just can't get consistent info on the slave but all the suppliers seem to sell the 13/16" slave. I did find a new 3/4" slave a while back which I have but the hydraulic line connection is too big...

    Clutch master/slave question

Hey All, Is the bore diameter of the clutch master and slave cylinders supposed to be the same? My master is 3/4" and the slave is 13/16". The stroke seems to be slightly limited and I think it is not quite releasing all the way. This is a complete resto with all new/rebuilt components...

    Whew! It Passed

Yep, it's a pain. I hope they decide to move the exempt years forward. 1969FJ, I agree, Downey, you are correct. Finding those parts was a pain and took a couple years. All used. Cruiserparts.net had some, SOR had some, got some on eBay, Cruisercorps, etc. One VTV calve was supposed to be red...

    Whew! It Passed

Thanks All for the comments. Coastline, wow, you got a hall pass I guess. I had a referee station inspection and they took 1-1/2 hours. Maybe because it was new registration after a 4 year non-op registration.

    Still no brakes!

I had the same problem after complete replacement of entire system. The problem in my case and you are already on it was the air in top half of the wheel cylinders. "Burping" them did the trick.

    Whew! It Passed

Hey All, Just wanted to share great news. After a 4 year restoration, I took my '77 FJ40 (Federal Emissions, no cat) for smog testing here in CA. It passed both the visual inspection of all parts present and operational as well as the emissions readings with flying colors. I was bit nervous...

    Happy with this jack cradle

Thanks Guys. Thebigredrocker, sharp eye! The bezel spacers they are there but maybe I trimmed em too much. The bezel seemed too far off the bib with them as they were. Main goal is to protect paint right? Here's a pic. Thoughts?

    Happy with this jack cradle

Hey All. Nearing completion of a 4 year nut/bolt, frame off resto of my '77 FJ40. I don't post much but thought this bit of "custom" was fun and came out great. I scored, cleaned and painted a jack a while back thinking it was same or close to what came with a 40 as original equipment only to...

New Oil Pump - Notchy feel - Peace of Mind Question

Thanks Doug. Agree. Still.... I have sent email to ITM service dept (the engine kit/pump mfg) to see if normal. I did look at the gears in the old pump and there are 7 teeth. I feel 7 notches per each revolution on the new one so I am thinking it is just pressure between teeth with the oil...

What are these small screws for on wheel well? '67

Not sure but possibly the center support for the jump seat? - the extra wide jump seat. See page 118 on SOR.com

New Oil Pump - Notchy feel - Peace of Mind Question

Howdy All, Getting closer to first start up after complete 2F rebuild. Build included new oil pump. I put oil in yesterday and did an initial prime by hand (rotating pump with screwdriver via the dizzy hole). I have not put the drill to it yet. Oil was immediately present at oil filter base so I...
