Well, the FJ40 has sat for awhile while I've been recovering from my ruptured brain aneurysm... What a ride.
With all that, I just picked up a 1983 Toyota Pickup from Homer Alaska.
Had no clue what I as getting ready to pick up for the price other than it was a 'small Toyota pickup' for 100...
Priority is: $157.30
Ground is: $117.15
Please note ground mail is barged out of Alaska and will take longer than two weeks.
I can budge on the price, just need this part out of my garage and don't want it going to the dump.
Middle photo is the "running board" mount and rectangle nut.
Thicker mounts are position #1 under the firewall
Thinner push-in is between positions #4 and #5 very thin spot where the tub crossmember and frame could potentially meet. Should be a hole in the cross member.
🤘
Had to pull my camper out for a follow-up appointment in los-Anchorage this month.
The ol' girl was up for the job, and dare I say looked good doing it.
Can't believe I found a pair of headrests that fit the bench seat!!!!
Local junkyard had em in a 50s/60s power wagon with what I suspect where aftermarket buckets.
I've used www.toyotapartsdeal.com, primarily because it's the only 'toyota' page I've been able to look up 1970s stuff, but I haven't tried getting it freight free before.
Awesome!
I haven't, wasn't able to find anyone at the time. @Aussie Alaskan covered the area as well it looks like.
I coated the frame during its assembly with POR15, but will likely do a full disassembly when I get my shop built on my lot next door and sandblast it then do a coating or two of por15.
I don't know about @Aussie Alaskan s area further north, but the Kenai Peninsula is a heavy Brine w/rust inhibitors (rust inhibitors don't to squat on my opinion)
Matter of great debate locally, but I prefer regular salt and sand over brine. 🤷♂️
