Anyone know what the part is in the right of this photo ? It's been 6 or 7 years since we pulled apart my '75 FJ40 and embarrassingly enough i'm not sure where it goes. Or if it's even off the FJ40.
I know the part on the left is part of the spare tire carrier.
Thanks
Interesting thanks for this. This is in line with the diagram from the manual, but also seems there is a bracket as well. I’ll head out to the garage and take a closer look today
Sorry just caught that you mentioned the fender. Thanks again. I think the fact that it is on an angle might have solved this. I used aftermarket fenders as well and they have reinforcement in that spot, so that seems right. It just didn't seem right since it didn't sit vertically so this helps.
Hey all. Does anyone have a recommendation for flares that would work to keep with the stock rear wheel well arches? It sounds like bolt-on options like the Bushwacker flares are more meant for those wanting to cut them for larger tires. It says you can lave them uncut and black out the...
Hey All
I have a 1975 FJ40 (left-hand drive) and I'm getting close to the finish line of a long resto. At the moment I'm reconnecting the charcoal canister/evap system. It's been so long since I took everything apart that I can't recall where/how the canister mounts under the hood. I have an...
Hey all,
I have a '75 FJ40 and I'm on the home stretch with the restoration, but have hit another annoying snag. I bought aftermarket weather strips from Cool Cruisers for the driver/passenger doors.
It's seeming like they aren't a great fit. It's hard to set them up to test fit, but I'm...
Cool site. I’ll check it out
BUT again, you ad goes against the entire point of this thread. Same issue, shipping to Canada from your site is almost the same price as the part.
CAD works out to $65 to land here. Nothing against OEM if that’s the way folks want to go, but for folks who aren’t...
Hey all,
Just thought I would post this should it help someone out. I had a lot of difficulty finding an aftermarket fuel cap replacement that fits my '75 Fj40
I'm in Canada so some Amazon options were limited. After trying a few from places like Napa and Rock Auto etc. I found that none...
Hi All,
Looking for a transmission hump cover that will fit my 1975 FJ40. Not interested in anything in need of repair or any of the fiberglass options on the market.
I live in Ontario, Canada but for anything fom the states I am able to pick it up from a shipping address in NY State.
Anyone...
Would you be able to post a pic of your best maybe some pin holes but having the outer flange in tact is key. I have a hump cover now but after sand blasting it looks like swiss cheese and the outer flange is gone on most of it.
