I did try to adjust the door on my 73, similar issue, bottom is out from the factory. I have to order a S wrench from japan, i think 12mm to do it properly and avoid scratches. Regular straight 12mm wont work if you need to reach the inside hinge bolt by the fender. search for KTC door hinge wrench

This is true! I drive a 5th gen 4runner and a 90 hzj73. 4runner is fast and light and the hzj73 is slow and heavy. There is something about the hzj73, its small and short but the mass of the drive train is different compare to the 4runner. its like a tractor or farm equipment, which i think it is.

does the wire harness have voltage for high beam when you switch to hi? bypass the harness and connect the headlight directly to the battery and try to see if you can make the hi and lo beam light up. Should be just Grd hi and lo. my 73 still run on 24v h4 halogen headlights + 2 IPF h4...
