Brand new radiator, thermostat, spark plugs. Stock engine. Everything should be hooked up properly- it ran fine before this.

Im guessing this is it - just replaced it with a new radiator. Filled it with coolant but thats it, didnt "burp" it.

1971 FJ40, stock Finally got my exhaust done for my 40 - was the last piece of the puzzle. Went to drive it home, steam in my face. It seems to be coming from the tubes the heater box should connect to - id taken it out to help with wiring, lost it, and never put it back in. It never did that...

Quick question - anyone know where the two WB ground wires on the wiper switch go to? Is there a specific ground point that works best or should i just wire them to a bolt somewhere? 71 FJ40. Thanks.

I have an FJ40 with a disc brake conversion using parts off a 60 series - but I do not know what year 60 it is. Just wondering if there's any differences between years for brake parts (calipers, pads, rotors) when I go to replace them. Thanks

Advance Auto Parts is going out of business on the west coast, and shocks are about $5 each right now... options that fit FJ40s are Rancho RS5000x and Monroe Gasmatic. Anyone have experience with those? For $5 a shock I'm not too picky anyway lol. And on advance's website, the rancho shocks say...

1971 FJ40, planning my front disc brake conversion. Couldn't find any while searching, so if there is one feel free to link another thread and call me an idiot, but has anyone posted a guide/breakdown of how to swap to disc brakes using parts from a 60-series? I'll be buying a full front axle...

My original throwout bearing collar was damaged, so I bought one from someone on here - and yeah, for whatever reason the bearing sticks when trying to rotate on the collar. It was a brand new bearing, so has to be a problem with the collar. Not sure what other options I have other than buying...

(1971 FJ40, 3-speed) After pressing the throwout bearing onto the collar, it was binding/sticking at one point in the rotation, I got a machinist to 'fix' it, and then after bolting everything back together super quick, moving across the country, and not touching it for a few months, I forgot...

Eventually I'm going to swap my '71's engine with a 350 or something similar. When I do, I'm thinking about putting in an automatic transmission with the shifter on the column to maintain the original styling/look and keep the bench seat in place. Has anyone done this before, got pictures maybe...

As far as I know, 1971 FJ40s never had stock radios, right? Anyone have pictures or ideas what they've done for stereo setups in older cruisers? Just looking for ideas, thanks!

Im in Anchorage, its a 1971. First get it running (fuel issue, then clutch), then paint over/stop the surface rust (any suggestions on paint/bedliner for the interior floor?) then probably run out of money haha. For now I just want it good enough I can throw some stuff in the back and take it...
