Same issue 2016 here. It's difficult to find a placement film or someone to actually replace it which seems odd. Not in the market to buy an entire head unit. Once the film is peeled, the screen is very prone to scratches / finger prints on a test spot.

Which dealer in Chicago? I'm interested.

Yep 2016 and I also have this and it will get worse. It started with a small patch then in a few months it’s spread quite a bit. I think I’ll get one of those Chinese wheel covers from amazon that you can stitch on.
