Hey Mud,
I'm getting ready to sell the 2F out of my DD and I need a little help settling on a reasonable price. I got it used; I think it had recently been rebuilt. I've been running it daily for two years. Here's the relevant info:
It runs strong and has been utterly reliable. Starts...
How deep do these thread into the t-case/trans fill holes? I have Shipmag's hose and the worn out threads on my t-case need something that threads a little deeper. My t-case is more of a basketcase.
Nice. Once you're used to them, post up what pressure you end up running. Mine wear even (chalk test) at about 18 PSI--smoother ride but high steering effort and a weird sloshy feel on corners. I ended up pumping them back up to 25ish and like the performance way, way more.
That OEM tubing is really thin. I've repaired one rusted leg and it was not easy to weld, even after cutting as much of the damage out as I could. I think reproductions out of thicker steel would be just fine, and easier to paint than SS. $0.02
I run premium and advance the timing a little. In my tests, the resulting MPG increase is slightly greater than than increase in price for premium, making it 'cheaper.' So, I run premium because it ends up being cheaper, not because I want to baby a 2F.
Some good pics of 31's in this thread:

I do much prefer the look of mine with 33's and a lift. It was pretty saggy in the rear with the original springs, and had a bad lean.
Do you guys really like the way 33's handle better than 31's? I was running 31's on wider steel wheels and now I'm running new 33/10.5/15s on stock steelies (BFG AT). They do look good. As far as the general handling/running around, I feel they are a significant step down from 31's. The...
I'm running those tires on stock steelies, but I have a lift. I just wanted to mention that you will have to air them down to get them to wear evenly. On stock steelies, with 35 psi, the middle 4" of the tire width is all that touches the ground.
