Just the heavily populated counties, and I'm in one of them. We also have the classic rod/classic car exemption, not sure how long that will last.

    Builds 74 Pig Build

Good to be back! To be honest I'm not sure yet about drivetrain. Likely SBC, maybe the one in my garage, on an H55 if I can get one. No real desire for crawl gears or anything complicated now. I want to focus on fixing body mounts, replacing metal where needed, and all that.

Short term goal is to get where I can move it around the yard, so I'm starting with hook up the steering. One of the things I discovered on disassembly, then forgot about, was that there are 4 different bolts holding the steering gear to the tower. Different pitches, one's even a smaller...

    Builds 74 Pig Build

11 years later, time to get the project back on track. Sheesh you wouldn't think raising kids would be such a distraction. At least I kept it indoors. On the other hand my 80's clear coat is floating away in the breeze.

'95 FZJ80 headlight switch left on and drained battery - help needed

Old thread I realize, but this morning in -5 degree temps I noticed my headlights had come on, where they weren't on an hour earlier. Put on snow boots, went out and turned off the switch. The headlamp relay chattered both when I turned the switch on and when I turned it off. I'll have to dig...

SOLD  1975 FJ55, Northern Nevada. Not an easy resto, but may make good wheeler.

$3500 1975 FJ55. Not running, but nearly complete. Clean title. Stored outdoors in partial shade, in dry northern Nevada since '08. Not weather tight, there's some rust and rodent damage but not too bad. I don't know its history before that, but it did have receipts for alignment in Oregon...

1FZ Lost intake valve clearance 6k miles after adjustment

I went ahead and bought a new set of valves and had a shop do the head work. The problem wasn't obvious to me, but the shop said those same seats needed some work. When I get time I'll try to get some measurements of the bad valves.

    Accelerator/throttle cable adjustment

@win1894 I just replaced mine "while I was in there", part number 78180-74080. I picked it up through ToyotaPartsDeal in the US.

    1FZ Head Rebuild or Replacement

Much assembly done. The EGR pipe bolts are accessible through the wheel well with a 12mm flex socket on a long extension borrowed from Ray. Today I Discovered that I ordered the wrong connector for the alternator. For what it's worth, the 3-pin that goes into the back of the alternator is...

    1FZ Head Rebuild or Replacement

I made a time consuming mistake. I had assembled the EGR pipe to the head, but not the intake manifold, before installing the head in the truck. The rigid EGR pipe was too far out of alignment to mount the EGR valve to the intake manifold. Now I can't get to the EGR pipe bolts to loosen them...

All the parts stores have empty spaces where the copper spray gasket sealers should be. Not sure why. Amazon won't ship it here either. Summit says they may ship it by the end of the month. Edit: ordered Loctite 7657 thru Amazon, but it's a third party seller so let's see what happens.
