I’m wondering if that tailgate suggests a “Signal Corps” variant. Maybe to lay communication wire… 🤔

Have it running and driving around. Stopping is a different story since blowing that hardline. I’m sure all wheel cylinders are shot unless they were replaced….

Yeah, the mechanism of the shifter and linkage (tcase shifter) was off. Works now! 👍👍

Thx. Yeah, I’ll investigate tomorrow. But I’m thinking it is tcase related. Whether shifting mechanism or vacuum. 👍

Maybe my transfer case is actually in neutral although it is in the HIGH position. 🤔

I left out that the truck moves out great IN LOW RANGE with the Fairey both IN and OUT. So, I’m hoping the overdrive is fine it just something else.

I picked up this old fj40 project the other day primarily for its Fairey Overdrive system. Car hasn’t been on road in almost 20 years. Since dragging her home I’ve gotten her running (decent). I replaced the Brake master, clutch master and clutch slave cylinders. I popped a rusty brake hardline...

I have an opportunity to buy a complete Fairey Overdrive system. The seller states that this is four a four speed. I know that I’ve seen FODs on three speed 40 series. What else is required to utilize this with my 40 series with its three speed? Thx.

81k? You got it right with the seats and some OEM bits (turn signals, etc). But people miss the mark when it comes to “restoring” these. OEM paint color choices are best. Selling the hard top and getting an aftermarket top was a mistake. Wheels are still available from Toyota.
