Thanks, the black yellow wire on mine was disconnected and laying on the fenderwell when I bought it, mine a 84 fj60 does not have a extwernal regulator, I think someone replaced the alternator with a internal one, there was a white wire and yellow wire in a 2 wire plug coming out of the alt...

Hey dbbowen, this is a great guide, been using it for referance for my swap, I am allmost ready to try and fire it. Doing the wireing right now, and I am not sure what to do with the 2 smaller wires that were plugged into the back of the 2f alternator, are they connected to the charge light...

I reinstalled the fuel separator, which tied all the vent tubes together. The line that went to the engine compartment comeing out of top of the separator is open now at the tube plate, works fine, that's where the rollover vent will come from. Back before emissions there were no canisters...

yes I removed it when I replaced the rusty fuel lines with stainless line that I installed....I am installing a rollover vent in the back where it comes out of the separator

I got it, looks like I have to tie the vent hoses together, there are 4 for the 2 upper chambers in the tank, the large one vents the filler neck

All emmissions is gone, did a non Toyota system and no emmissions testing here

Help... anyone on here figure out how to vent the tank with the stock venting contraption removed, I did a complete fuel injection sys so I removed everything stock. I connected the large tube hose to the neck like Toyota had it, vented cap. I can only get 2/3rds of a tank when I try to fill up...

thanks guys, I don't have the FSM for a 80 series, only my 60 series, using a Haynes shop manual, bought new head bolts from Toyota, turned one of the old ones into a thread chaser to clean threads, blew out the holes after chaseing, and put a light coat of oil on threads

Hi Guys, I am doin a head gasket on my sons FZJ80, what is correct torque, my book says 3 steps, 29 ft lbs 1st, then qtr turn, then another qtr turn??????
