I think you know that this is going to continue until you clean the tank out. I would keep a spare clean filter handy until you do... might keep the truck from going over a bridge.:)
After thinking about it for a few minutes there is another possiblity. All corners cold be off and the ones that are low need to be raised by 1/2 inch and the ones that are high need to be lowered 1/2 inch. That would keep all three bows in the same plane and the side stretchers (support...
Check my math:
1) The right rear is 1 inch lower than the right front
2) The left front is 1 inch lower then the left rear
3) The front, middle, and rear bows are all on the same plane
4) The middle bow is exactly half way between the front and rear bows
If 1 through 4 are correct then I...
OK...you need a picture, I get it, words are hard. The OP stated he could make it cheaper than 4Plus, I pointed out that just the material costs would be a challenge to meet that price point. No where did I state "buy it rather than build it is better." I actually encouraged him by stating...
Mine has 12, Class 10.9, 14mm bolts, through sleeved holes with the same strength nuts and split washers through the existing holes in the rear frame member.
I don't want to rain on your parade but... if you think you can make it less expensive then 4Plus and use the same or higher quality components I think you will be amazed at the cost you are about to incur. Add the cost of a CAD suite (commercial not freeware) so you can have your "free"...
In Post #1 your schematic shows all of the points that need to be verified to find the issue. Start at the Headlight Fuse (20A). Then use the half split method to determine where the problem lies. That means find a place half way between the fuse and the headlight and take a measurement. If...
You mentioned that you "switched over to LED headlights" yet you do not give any specifications for them and you are wondering if you "need to add a resistor." Are you using headlights that require a voltage different from 12VDC? If they require something less, then you would need a resistor...
It sounds like the 15A fuse is saving your 40 from burning to the ground. If you are taking both of the wires from the license plate light and grounding them you are creating the short that is causing the over current protection device (fuse) to open, protecting your wiring and vehicle from...
I've had four 40s a 72, two 77s and a 78. All of them had a single flasher that was used with the turn signals and hazards. What year(s) of 40 have multiple flashers?
As strange as it may sound...whenever I encounter a weird electrical problem the first thing I do is clean all of the grounds. Try to insure the grounds on the headlight buckets and the socket contacts are clean and shiny. This has slayed many electrical gremlins in my lifetime.
Thanks for the compliment. This basket is v 2.0 made out of aluminum. The v 1.0 was made out of mild steel and weighed a ton. The 3500 lb axle spindles that I used for the pivots could handle it though.
The pink "yazaki" wire is indeed from the factory. The reason I place it in quotes is most refer to it as the yazaki wire. In actuality most if not all of the factory wires are made by yazaki, so all of the wires could technically be called a yazaki wire.
The pink wire is a high resistance...
