Good deal, I’ll try and work out some time to call and get some advice/parts ordered guess I’m dropping the pan to find the rest of that dip stick and wiring was my next repair. I just want a reliable mostly Toyota fj the looking good is way down the list for me.

What will I be looking for on the rockers? Or would it be best to get some more pictures, or casting numbers to confirm this?

True that I did finally find a picture and understand what you’re saying now, gotta get an oil filter and a pan gasket dipstick and tube. Parts are starting to add up lol

I haven’t even looked but is anything underneath in the way or just pull the boats and hopefully dead blow and the pan comes off. I can’t figure out where they mean put a bottle jack. On another note I found an 85 straight axle from a pickup, that I may go pull for $200 bucks if i understand...

Yea I figure this motor will be good just from looking in the rockers when I bought it everything looks clean no sludge or rust almost looks brand new, how difficult is pulling the pan on a 1F read something about putting the bottle jack between the frame?

I’m hoping it’s just solder some in between only got two wires that are red blue stripe that are two in the bundle so idk how to tell which goes were really. And good idea about cleaning the sludge out probably wouldn’t be bad for an oil pump, gotta get a gasket and a new dipstick and tube.

Did make some progress the dipstick tube to the block was rtved in and the dipstick wouldn’t come out so at some point I figure that broke and let the dipstick bend and looked like contacted the crank or something, had to use a slide hammer so I figure the rest of the stick fell in probably...

Yea the 69 is the main project got one spot of rust about quarter size in the driver floor, po started disassembly so seats non factory roll bar are loose/out. Right now see if I can make it run search for a disc brake straight axle, really don’t wanna cut that firewall brace for power brakes...

Then a couple weeks go buy and I use my tractor and a strap and drag the 71 one from my neighbors driveway maybe a couple blocks to behind my shed It has a hard top in rough shape and no motor but possibly parts for the 69. Then last but not least the first beer while tinkering on the 69...

Yea I know should use tire straps, but it was a borrowed trailer it worked have no intention of trailering it again. Did put the bumper back on and used the tow bar to get it into the garage.

Hauled my new to me 69 fj40 now to start a build thread, it’s a non runner needs some wiring repair and hope to start then brake repair researching disc conversions now.
