Two for the price of one FJ40s

So this started as me noticing this 71 landcruiser that appeared behind a neighbors shed, and after talking to the nice old gentleman finding out it was his sons and he actually bought two and he might sell them both.

Which I honestly thought nah I can’t buy both, but I was told come look at the other before I bring a trailer so I do. I find some good rat damage to the wire harness but the motor spins over by hand and I couldn’t stand not having a project so borrow a trailer and a long Friday we made it to the 69’s resting place.

Then a couple weeks go buy and I use my tractor and a strap and drag the 71 one from my neighbors driveway maybe a couple blocks to behind my shed
It has a hard top in rough shape and no motor but possibly parts for the 69.

Then last but not least the first beer while tinkering on the 69 deciding the plan.

Nice score and welcome. '69 is a great year: not just because it's the year I was born and the summer of love, but because you've got thicker sheet metal, turn signals in the grille, cool round side marker lights and the cool split hood.

The main one looks great and having a parts rig is priceless. What are the plans (please don't use the word 'patina' to say 'I'm just going to get it running and can't be bothered with the paint and body work')? How's the rust? 69s have the thicker sheet metal so they do tend to hold up better. You've got two frames to choose from: which is better? Power brakes from the '71 would be a nice upgrade.
