Just an FYI. - I had some issues with it burning out the module when I installed mine. Come to find out the paper gasket was causing some grounding issues. I ended up putting a ground wire from the mounting hold-down screw to the negative on the battery - solved the problem.

Thanks - if everyone thinks it is a mini truck box I can order the rebuild parts so that is a big help. Does the parts change witha. small or reg return port? I never knew there was a difference so thank you.

Looking to rebuild power steering box but not 100% sure what came on this 79 FJ40. Is this the "mini truck" power steering box? If not, any idea what it is? Also is the mini truck PS the box for the 1981–1985 4WD pickups or 1984–1985 4Runners? Thank you!

I have a new cam shaft, new lifters, new oil pump, new DUI distributor, and all related gaskets coming. Going to refresh a few things while it is apart. It does appear if you cant keep the valves in spec to look at the rockers and cam. Not what you want ot find but......

I think your friend is onto something. Today we pulled the side cover and the lifters. The valves that were really going out of spec, the lifters have what I would call a dent. They are NOT perfectly smooth and you can feel the indentation. 12 new ones have been ordered. I checked the cam...

I have not got compressioin numbers yet, but we can do that. We did not try it ideling as the carb is still off, and figured it should be simular to cold, just slightly difference clearances. Would that make a difference? Everyone says it should never float in and out of spec, but it sure...
